BECKHAM, a four-part documentary series, tells the story of a global star and cultural icon.
Working-class roots in east London, a drive to win, and finding a balance between ambition, love, and family, David Beckham’s story is full of ups and downs.
The new series from Netflix was released in October. It takes you on a rollercoaster ride. It builds a personal story about Beckham, one of the world’s most famous athletes.
David Beckham was born on May 2, 1975. His professional club career began at Manchester United in 1992 when he was 17 years old. He won six Premier League titles, two FA Cups, and the 1999 UEFA Champions League with Manchester United.
In 2003, Beckham joined Spanish champions Real Madrid. This transfer made him the third Englishman to play for the club.
In the Netflix series, Academy Award-winner Fisher Stevens and Academy Award, and Emmy Award-winning producer John Battsek are granted unprecedented access to David, his wife Victoria, his family, his friends, and his teammates.
The result is an intimate portrait of a man as well as a chronicle of late-modern sports and celebrity culture:
