Lil Nas X apologized for his music video. What for?

Christians were offended by a music video by Lil Nas X. Overreaction, here we come.

J Christ. That’s the name of the latest music video by Lil Nas X. Since its release last week, Christians have been offended by its content and storytelling.

They are right about one thing: It is filled with references to the bible: the Crucifixion, the Ark of Noah, and more. As usual, the 24 year old rapper (real name: Montero Lamar Hill) sports his gay identity.

-I’m not the first person to dress up as Jesus, the rapper said on social media this week. -I’m not the first rapper, the first artist, and I won’t be the last. I know I messed up really bad this time.

Believers deserve respect, regardless of religion. However,  religions that has a massive power in our global society, has to face criticism via popular culture even if someone thinks it is “too much”.

Artists have an important task in our society, namely to question those in power.

Here is the video. What do you think?
