Stockholm based indie band Nothing in Common shares their debut EP, Kicking Myself.
By Michael Hartmann. March 21, 2020
The talented trio write frank indie-pop songs about relationships and heartbreak, often with dark and introspective undertones.
Led by the soothing vocals of front woman Alice, supported by Bo (drums) and Pelle (guitar), the unlikely collaboration began when Bo and Pelle met whilst studying digital design at school together. They then discovered Alice, a talented singer-songwriter on their course and invited her to a session.
The song Kicking Myself was written by Alice, sharing her own experiences with an impressive honesty. Sang through gritted teeth, Kicking Myself tells the all too familiar tale of regret and reflection, looking back on a situation that she should have handled differently.
-When I wrote this song, I really wanted to convey the feeling of being lost in a constant loop of “what if’s”.
Drawing from their combined influences, Nothing in Common thrive on the ability to experiment with their music, concepts and the different emotions they’re able to portray with each release.
